How far is Donnelly River from Perth?

Donnelly River is about 300 km south of Perth and is around a 3 to 4-hour drive depending on traffic.

What should I pack?

Please ensure you pack your own food and drink for all meals except dinner and nibbles on Saturday night.
Any extra booze you would like for the weekend (beer and wine will be provided at the wedding). 
Comfortable shoes (if you like bushwalking), bathers and a jacket for cooler evenings. 
Anything else you need for a weekend away :)

Do I need to bring sheets for the accomodation beds?

Yes, please bring bed linens, towels and pillows.

Are there any restaurants or places to get food?

Accepted Answer

No, there is no town at Donnelly River; the closest towns are Bridgetown and Nannup, which are about a 25-minute drive (in either direction). 
There is a cafe with a limited food menu, with a small shop at the Donnelly River general store.

Do I need to bring my own food supplies?

Yes, please bring your own food supplies for all other meals except dinner Saturday night.

Is the ceremony / reception inside or outside?

The ceremony will be held outside in the karri forest. Dinner and cocktail hour will also be held outside before we head inside for the remainder of the reception, which will be held in the Workers Club Hall.

What is the accommodation?

Guests will be staying in Donnelly River's historic workers' cottages on the property. These are standalone cottages with their own kitchens and bathrooms. You will likely be sharing a cabin (with friends).

How do I know which accommodation I'm staying in?

Accepted Answer

We will assign guests to cottages, when you arrive head to the General Store and give your name, they will let you know your assigned cabin and give you the keys.

Will transport be available?

You will only need to find your way to and home from Donnelly River. No further transport is required as all cottages, ceremony and reception are within walking distance.

Question 11

Do I need to stay at the acommodation?

Accepted Answer

No. You're welcome to book your own accommodation in Nannup, Bridgetown or any of the surrounding towns; however, you will have to sort your own transport to Donnelly River for the wedding. 
Please let us know if you are doing so, so we can factor you out of our accommodation plan.

Are children allowed?

Yes, children are welcome at the ceremony and dinner. Please let us know if you are bringing kids so we can factor them into the accommodation and food.

What kind of wildlife can I expect to see?

Accepted Answer

There are a group of local emus and kangaroos that hang around the village. They are very friendly and are regularly fed. They will come up to you!
